Highlead GC0518-BD

The Highlead GC0518-BD is a heavy duty needle feed sewing machine which features a double capacity large hook and automatic thread trimmer. 

The combined dual action feed motion, longer needle bar stroke and longer take up stroke allows this model to handle heavier materials & difficult to feed fabrics, when compared with a standard drop feed machine (i.e. slippery fabrics, PVC/plastics, jeans, technical textiles, work-wear, ballistic articles, promotional/print items, uniforms, rain-wear, outdoor wear etc.).

The needle bar and bottom feed mechanism move in time: to combine into a more stable motion which helps prevent uneven material feeding & ply shifting etc. and results in a better and more precise stitched seam.  The feeding action operates while the needle is in the down position penetrating through the materials, securing the layers of cloth together while they are in motion.  

Stitch length variations are greatly reduced when sewing and changing between high & low speed or forward & reverse feeding. 

The fitting of a larger double capacity hook & base, reduces the number of bobbin changes and helps to increase stitching efficiency. The extra capacity is useful when utilizing the thicker threads associated with heavier materials and for extending run times when compared with a common standard capacity hook. 

The GC0518-BD model is capable of using a sewing needle up to size 22/140 and has thread handling capabilities of up to a metric size 20 (including 60,40,30,25,20 etc.).

The machine is equipped with an automatic thread trimmer which is mounted under the needle plate for quick & accurate cutting of thread at the end of a sewing cycle. This saves considerable time when compared with manual cutting of threads using scissors etc.

The position of the needle is controlled by an electronic needle position motor & controller.  This will automatically put the needle in an UP or DOWN position at the end of a sewing cycle (user selectable) reducing the need to use the manual hand wheel. 

The Highlead GC0518-BD is a feature packed heavy duty machine and as well as needle feed, large double capacity hook & automatic thread trimming; it comes as standard with programmable auto back-tack, auto reverse, knuckle quick reverse and stitch count operator control module.

It is fitted with a premium full sized high torque quiet & energy efficient electronically controlled AC servo motor, which only runs when you are actually sewing; If you pause or stop: the motor stops immediately and is almost silent.
